About

The Socialist Feminist Collective is a group of Rochester DSA members practicing socialist feminist politics in Rochester, NY. Formed in early 2018 as a response to the failures of mainstream liberal feminism, we organize around reproductive freedom, economic justice, and other issues that especially impact working and poor people. Our goal is to affect radical change in the conditions of the lives of the poor and working class.

As Socialist Feminists, we demand full bodily autonomy for all-- not only to those who can afford it. The wealthy will always have unrestricted access to comprehensive medical care, as is the privilege granted to them by their class. Crisis Pregnancy Centers seek to disrupt the already limited access of the poor and the working class to abortion and reproductive care.

By providing Rochesterians, especially the working class and poor, with complete information about these centers and directing them to their qualified alternatives, we hope to mitigate the damage that these centers cause and the violence they do to working-class communities in this city.
